Press Release Summary: Long-standing family run wig firm fulfils a 28-year dream
with new retail unit.

Press Release Body: A new strand of business is already doing well for an
established Dorset wig and hairpiece company, only weeks after starting trading.

West Country Wigmakers, which has its HQ in Poole, is celebrating the opening of its
new store in Boscombe and fruition of a 28-year dream.

The family-run firm of 25 years is the South West's largest manufacturer of wigs and
hair pieces for medical/NHS and fashion markets, and was the first in the UK to
introduce a free home visit and fitting service.

The Sovereign Centre store marks the company's second locally - the other is a
smaller unit in Poole's Dolphin Centre.

But the business is already a seasoned exhibitor at international trade shows, with
a successful international wholesale arm, and has supplied hair jewellery to TV
series Strictly Come Dancing.

"The Boscombe store is my pride and joy, and is the work of 28 years to get to this
stage," said co-managing director, Jackie Gawman.

"We are in a gateway position in the shopping centre and finally have the space to
fully display our range and scope of products and services.

"This store also includes a private fitting room. We hope this branch will be the
first of many."

Originally from the Bournemouth area, David and Jackie Gawman first operated from
the West Country before relocating the business to their home town.

Turnover last year exceeded £400,000 and the company employs ten staff servicing a
2,500-strong client base across the UK.
